In a roadside blast on the route from Kalat to Ameerabad, a pickup truck was struck when a landmine went off, leading to the deaths of four individuals and injuries to five others.
Kalat, April 24: According to initial reports, the explosive device had been planted along the roadside and detonated as the vehicle passed. Members of the Levies Force, including the station house officer (SHO), promptly transported the victims to the Teaching Hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Molana Abdullah, a local leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl), and three others, including two women. All belonged to the Nichari tribe and were residents of Ameerabad, Kalat.
Similarly, four other individuals also suffered injuries in the blast.
Responding to the incident, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kalat district, Shah Nawaz Baloch, and Assistant Commissioner Aftab Ahmed Lasi visited the hospital.
Meanwhile, the injured were taken to Quetta for further treatment. An emergency has been declared at the Kalat Teaching Hospital, with all medical staff on full duty.
The Levies Force has launched an investigation into this matter.
