Kalat: A group of heavily armed persons launched a major attack on Mangochar in Kalat district late Thursday night, targeting the security forces and multiple government offices in a coordinated operation.
Local security officials reported that the attackers infiltrated the town along the N-25 highway and engaged in intense gunfire with security forces. The situation remains volatile, with parts of the town reportedly under the control of the assailants.
The attackers also surrounded key areas of Mangochar and set ablaze several government buildings, including the National Bank, NADRA office, and the session court in a nearby town, cutting off essential services and heightening tensions.
Security reinforcements have been dispatched to the area, and an operation is underway to regain control and restore order. However, no immediate reports of casualties have been confirmed so far.
